The best part about the interview was Leo's wry excitement about having an Android phone with downloading apps and internet connection in his 10 days with his HTC MyTouch. Leo does think that his son's iPhone is heads and shoulders above his myTouch.

]]> June 5, 2010 - While at a mutual friend's going away party, OC club maven, James Raven, brought out his brand new Sprint HTC EVO 4G Android superphone. Me being me, meant I immediately asked if I could check out the 4" monitor monster and then I asked if I could interview him about his phone. Watch the video to see James' thoughts on the EVO 4G mobile, of which he is very excited to own and play with.

James read about the EVO in Engadget and then decided to make a pre-order with the RadioShack. Previous to the EVO, he owned a Blackberry Curve, which was buggy, and he prefers the EVO because he can do things with it that he could not do with any of the previous smartphones that he has owned.

James loves the ability to stream live video to Qik, as well as using Gmote to stream music and other files from his home computer.

Thomas is one of the most technologically forward persons that I know, but after much research and fondling of many phones, he chose to get an LG Exclaim from Sprint with no data plan. ]]> I interviewed Al Pavangkanan about his experience this last year with his Nokia N97. I have been thinking quite a lot about my own experience the last six months with a Nokia N97 and other people's, as it has been a device that folks either seem to enjoy, quirks and all, or really dislike and has driven folks away from Nokia as a brand.

Al is a good person to ask on the subject of the Nokia N97 as he is a geek, a gadget man, participates on the mobile forums, as well as a kind, in-resident mobile expert for many of the people around him, but yet he also keeps his devices for a year or longer which gives him time to really live with them.

]]> March 27, 2010 - While at a neighborhood party, I found myself in the kitchen talking to folks who I usually only see while dog walking, the conversation moved to what I did and cell phones. I asked my neighbor Lori, a self-described phone only person, if she would mind being interviewed for Mobilefor.Us about her cell phone and how she uses it.

Lori likes to use her phone for phone calls, texting, and taking photos. She would like a better phone for texting. She would also like to learn how to take the photos off her current phone.

I suggested that she get a usb* cable that will allow her to transfer her photos off her phone to her computer, as the phone did not have bluetooth.

* Sorry, but I did not check to see if this particular Motorola was using a mini or micro USB port on the side of the phone. Before ordering a cable from Amazon or any other vendor, do check to see if your phone's usb port is micro or mini. A video will be forthcoming on how to determine this.

Welcome to Mobilefor.Us - Cell Phones for the Rest of Us! Or Mobile Phones for the Rest of Us, depending on the part of the world you are from.

Mobilefor.Us is a website that I have wanted to put up for over a year now, where various sets of folk get to share with you, via video interviews, how they use their cell/mobile phones/devices and in turn Mobilefor.Us will share some tutorials on how to use your phones.

The idea here is to share information and learn about a wide range of mobile and cell phones in a way that is both fun and easy to learn.

Five questions, plus a few sub-questions are asked in each interview, plus whatever other bits folks want to talk about their mobile phones:
1) Who are you, what phone do you have, where did you get it, and do you have a data plan?
2) What do you like about your mobile / cell phone?
3) What have you taught yourself to do on your mobile?
4) What don't you like about your mobile?
5) Either What do you wish you knew how to do on your mobile or what do you wish your phone did differently?
